Course Outline
Working with people with disabilities is some of the most fulfilling work you can do. The introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) means the demand for workers has never been higher. A Certificate IV in Disability Support provides a clear and dedicated pathway into the sector with immediate employment opportunities. Completion of this nationally recognised certificate enables you to work in the disability sector anywhere in Australia in amazingly diverse and rewarding roles.
This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and client’s homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

Academic Requirements:
In order to access this qualification, applicants must have completed a Certificate III in Individual Support.
Admission Requirements:
There are no barriers to entry based on age (other than post school students over 16), gender, social or educational background. Students need to be able bodied and have the physical capacity to undertake the practical application of the program.
Student should have foundation skills at the ACSF levels listed below. This is tested during our Pre-training review. Each student is required to complete the Language, Literacy & Numeracy assessment to determine what level they are currently working at & if they are suitable to proceed with this qualification. Where students do not have skills, they may be provided with additional support to develop their literacy and numeracy skills to this level if appropriate, or alternatively they will be provided information on other more appropriate courses.
USI Requirements:
Learners are required to comply with Evidence of enrolments at the time of enrolment at time of enrolment with ONCALL Training College. Students are required to provide appropriate forms of IDs to confirm their eligibility to enroll in this course. Students are required to apply for unique student identification (USI) number while their study period in Australia and this information will be handed to the students at the time of orientation. IT Requirements:
This qualification requires a basic understanding and use of computers and the internet. Support will be provided as required to develop the students’ skills.

To successfully achieve the CHC43121 – Certificate IV in Disability Support, ten (10) units must be completed which are made up of:
7 core units
3 elective units, consisting of:
at least 2 units from the electives listed below
up to 1 unit from the electives listed below, any endorsed Training Package or accredited course – these units must be relevant to the work outcome.
All electives chosen must contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

There is no practical work placement required to achieve this qualification.

Workshops run from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm on Wednesdays at our Surrey Hills campus.

This course will be delivered using a blended delivery methodology. The blended methodology employed by ONCALL Training College will include an intensive face to face classroom training session including a theoretical and practical component along with online and self-study.

ONCALL Training College offers you a Payment Plan, which enables you to pay for the course over its duration. Your first instalment is required as part of the enrolment process. Following commencement, you will be debited electronically each week until the completion of your payment plan.
Payment Plan:
Certificate IV in Disability (10 equal payments, total payments $3,000)
Fee for service paid over $300 weekly instalments
1st Payment $300 at enrolment
2nd Payment $300 one week after first workshop
Each subsequent payment of $300 will occur every week to the completion of the payment plan.
