Course Outline
This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery. Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.

Academic Requirements:
There are no prerequisites for this nationally recognised qualification.
Admission Requirements:
There are no barriers to entry based on age (other than post school students over 16), gender, social or educational background. Students need to be able bodied and have the physical capacity to undertake the practical application of the program.
Student should have foundation skills at the ACSF levels listed below. This is tested during our Pre-training review. Each student is required to complete the Language, Literacy & Numeracy assessment to determine what level they are currently working at & if they are suitable to proceed with this qualification. Where students do not have skills, they may be provided with additional support to develop their literacy and numeracy skills to this level if appropriate, or alternatively they will be provided information on other more appropriate courses.
USI Requirements:
Learners are required to comply with Evidence of enrolments at the time of enrolment at time of enrolment with ONCALL Training College. Students are required to provide appropriate forms of IDs to confirm their eligibility to enroll in this course. Students are required to apply for unique student identification (USI) number while their study period in Australia and this information will be handed to the students at the time of orientation.
IT Requirements:
This qualification requires a basic understanding and use of computers and the internet. Support will be provided as required to develop the students’ skills.

You may be eligible for credit towards courses in your program if you have already achieved the learning/competency outcomes through previous learning. This learning could be gained through a formal qualification, non-accredited training or on the job learning at your workplace, also known as recognition of prior learning (RPL).
To be eligible for credit towards a course, you must demonstrate that you have already completed learning that is:

Costs
There are no fees for credit transfer applications. The recognition of prior learning (RPL) fee is $500 per unit. For more information, please refer to the Credit Transfer and RPL policy and procedure.

To successfully achieve the CHC43015 – Certificate IV in Ageing Support, eighteen (18) units must be completed which are made up of:
15 core units
3 elective units, consisting of:
at least 2 units from the electives listed here
up to 1 unit from any endorsed Training Package or accredited course.
All electives chosen must contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

Workshops run from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm on Tuesdays at our Surrey Hills campus.

This course will be delivered using a blended delivery methodology. The blended methodology employed by ONCALL Training College will include an intensive face to face classroom training session including a theoretical and practical component along with on-line and self-study.

As part of the Certificate IV in Ageing Support there is a mandatory requirement to obtain practical placement. Students often find placement hard to source and difficult to manage. Because of this, ONCALL Training College leverages our industry-based contacts to coordinate work placement for students where they will complete 120 hours.
This practical placement will not only assist in developing work-ready skills, but will also help to consolidate the skills and knowledge for some units.

ONCALL Training College offers support services to any students who have questions or difficulties regarding the training as well as their future career development. Students with disabilities are encouraged to enrol in the course and will be appropriately supported.

After completing CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support, students may qualify to work as an aged care worker, aged care activity worker or as a volunteer coordinator in settings supporting older people.
This is a nationally accredited qualification that provides individuals with the skills and knowledge to work in the aged care industry. Individuals can choose to work in residential, home or community-based environments, and provide support to elderly people with complex needs.

According to the Australian Government’s Job Outlook website, employment for Aged and Disabled Carers (which includes Aged Care Workers) is projected to grow very strongly over the next five years.

ONCALL Training College offers you a Payment Plan, which enables you to pay for the course over its duration. Your first instalment is required as part of the enrolment process. Following commencement, you will be debited electronically each week until the completion of your payment plan.
Payment Plan:
Certificate IV in Ageing Support (18 equal payments, total payments $5,400)
Fee for service paid over $300 weekly instalments
1st Payment $300 at enrolment
2nd Payment $300 one week after first workshop
Each subsequent payment of $300 will occur every week to the completion of the payment plan.
