Course Outline
ONCALL Group Australia is a major employer of a dual workforce in Disability and Residential Out of Home Care. This course is designed to prepare you to provide a broad range of services such as establishing self-directed recovery relationships and providing recovery-oriented mental health services. To commence work as a Psychosocial Recovery Coach, participants must hold a Certificate IV in Mental Health.

Academic Requirements:
There are no prerequisites for this nationally recognised qualification.
Admission Requirements:
There are no barriers to entry based on age (other than post school students over 16), gender, social or educational background. Students need to be able bodied and have the physical capacity to undertake the practical application of the program.
Student should have foundation skills at the ACSF levels listed below. This is tested during our Pre-training review. Each student is required to complete the Language, Literacy & Numeracy assessment to determine what level they are currently working at & if they are suitable to proceed with this qualification. Where students do not have skills, they may be provided with additional support to develop their literacy and numeracy skills to this level if appropriate, or alternatively they will be provided information on other more appropriate courses.
USI Requirements:
Learners are required to comply with Evidence of enrolments at the time of enrolment at time of enrolment with ONCALL Training College. Students are required to provide appropriate forms of IDs to confirm their eligibility to enroll in this course. Students are required to apply for unique student identification (USI) number while their study period in Australia and this information will be handed to the students at the time of orientation. IT Requirements:
This qualification requires a basic understanding and use of computers and the internet. Support will be provided as required to develop the students’ skills.

To successfully achieve CHC43315 – Certificate IV in Mental Health, fifteen (15) units must be completed which are made up of:
Total number of units = 15
11 core units
4 elective units.
-At least 2 units from the electives listed as listed here, including at least 1 unit from the ‘At Risk’ group.
Up to 2 units from any endorsed training package or accredited course – these units must be relevant to the work outcome.

Practical placement is a mandatory requirement of the Certificate IV in Mental Health qualification.
Students must complete 80 hours of work-related practical placement.
This practical placement will not only assist in developing work-ready skills but will also help to consolidate the skills and knowledge for some units.

Classes will run on Thursdays from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. This course will be delivered primarily online via Microsoft Teams, with practical workshops at the Surrey Hills campus once per month.

This course will be delivered using a blended delivery methodology. The blended methodology employed by ONCALL Training College will include an intensive face to face classroom training session including a theoretical and practical component along with online and self-study.

From July 2020, Psychosocial Recovery Coaches will be available to support participants with psychosocial disabilities, to live a full and contributing life.
Recovery Coaches will support participants to take more control of their lives and to better manage the complex challenges of day-to-day living.
Recovery Coaches will work collaboratively with participants, their families, carers and other services to design, plan and implement a recovery plan, and assist with the coordination of NDIS and other supports.
Participants will have the option of selecting a Recovery Coach with lived experience or a Recovery Coach with learnt knowledge of psychosocial disability and mental health.
The following experience and qualifications and professional development are recommended for Recovery Coaches:
Lived experience Recovery Coach
A minimum level of qualifications and experience is recommended to be:
Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or similar training, and/or
Two years of experience in mental-health-related peer work.
Recovery Coaches without a lived experience
A minimum level of qualifications and experience is recommended to be:
Certificate IV in mental health, community services, other related health fields or similar training, and/or
Two years of experience in mental-health-related work.

ONCALL Training College offers you a Payment Plan, which enables you to pay for the course over its duration.
Your first instalment is required as part of the enrolment process. Following commencement, you will be debited electronically each week until the completion of your payment plan.
Payment Plan:
Certificate IV in Mental Health (15 equal payments, total payment $4,500)
Fee for service paid over $300 weekly instalments.
1st Payment $300 at enrolment
2nd Payment $300 one week after first workshop
Each subsequent payment of $300 will occur every week to the completion of the payment plan.
