Urinary Catheter Care
Course Outline
This three-hour short course allows you to gain skills and knowledge required to provide personal care to people who use condom drainage sheaths, indwelling urinary catheters, suprapubic urinary catheters, urine collection bags, and urostomy pouches.
A practical demonstration activity will be provided.

Why Study This Course?
Support workers may work with people who require assistance with Urinary Catheter Care. Responsibility for Urinary Catheter care would normally be undertaken by a person with nursing qualifications. Support workers who are responsible for limited care work under direction of a health worker. They require relevant training although this work does not typically require specialist skills.

Connect, empty and manage urine collection bags

Finalise personal care processes
